Parental rights is going to be one of the next big battlefields for families, wait and see.
Connecticut teenager Justina Pelletier spent 16 months and two birthdays in state custody as the central, but little-seen, player in an explosive drama involving parental rights and the controversial new field of medical child abuse.
Justina’s horrendous ordeal certainly gained national media exposure on the parental rights issue. The nightmare is over now for the Pelletier family thanks to the relentless efforts by so many on her behalf. Justina’s father Lou Pelletier said in a text message, “This battle has been finally won. The WAR will not be won until we stop this from happening to ALL CHILDREN!!”
It is just possible that people will stay away from Boston Children’s Hospital in droves after the revelations! The family vows to pursue legal action against the state of Massachusetts for what they say was essentially an abduction of their daughter.
Apparently Justina Pelletier’s parents aren’t the only ones that have had their parental rights violated there.
At 2:05 in the video, this statement stands out like a thunderbolt, “This hospital (Boston Children’s Hospital) has a history of NOT respecting parent’s rights!”
