I had to share this old photo from a no-makeup day on the farm (2001-2009). I experienced a mild form of culture shock out there in the middle of nowhere. I decided to stop coloring my normally very dark brown hair there at age 50, which helps me date the photo at ’02 😀
Sometimes I can have my head “under a rock (figuratively, of course…) I’m not planning to go back to coloring my hair, but I have decided to “get up to date” with this blog by adding an email list!
Don’t be alarmed… I know all about getting too many emails. You’ll only get (at the most) 1-2 quick reads each month, and there will be special things just for you who are on the list!If you want in, click here.
Why an email list?
You know that I’m never afraid to share controversial information. My content has been censored online (once … took down the Deep Roots at Home … page for 24 hours).
We also got hacked last week and thankfully recovered it all. If there ever comes a time when I’m not able to publish online, we want to be able to stay connected!
Also, I *love* having conversations with you all through the comments you share on the posts, and being able to share relevant, helpful information with you. A quick stop in your inbox 12 times a year will be another way for us to engage.
As always, keep the comments and good ideas coming! And get this season’s free gift here.
P.S. I think this beautiful fellow in the photo is Charles the rooster (named after a memorable character in Walter Brook’s children’s book ‘Freddie Goes To Florida’). He was my favorite besides Bluey, the Blue Orpington hen!
Thanks for reading!
