Have you ever heard of Salt Sole? This is what our naturopath and another doctor friend told us to give my husband when he had a heart arrhythmia to see if it was a simple mineral deficiency – and indeed it was! Let me tell you about Salt Sole, but first let me lay necessary groundwork….
In the spirit of the do-it-yourself-er and as a salute to the ‘too-frugal-to-buy-it-already-made’, here is how I make my version of Young Living’s Purification® blend. Their blend is very nice, but I believe I can achieve a finished product that is just as excellent and save money, too. I call my version ‘Clean and Fresh’.

Herb Weaving With Sage
Let’s do a little herb weaving today with sage and sedum!
I love the rich herby fragrance of sage (salvia officinalis) when it’s freshly cut and the color of the leaves when it’s dried and hanging in my kitchen. Late summer and early autumn is a perfect time to gather from the aromatic herbs growing in your garden or look for it at a farmer’s market. Oh, the joys of fall and the cooler days!
What’s the very best way to preserve fresh herbs? It’s taken me a long while to find out! Been growing herbs such as parsley, basil, chives, tarragon, cilantro, garlic, and dill in my garden since before we were married, but I’ve had to fail many times in order to learn how to preserve those marvelous fresh flavors before the chills and bluster of winter could damage their tender leaves.
Freezing makes them unrecognizable with no texture; drying takes away much of their flavor, and putting them into ice cubes with water? What an unappetizing mess!
What Is the Secret?
Flat stones, chunky stones, all different colored stones! The fun began looking for just the right stones while on vacation and out in our field. Our favorite stone markers fit right into the palm of your hand. Lake Michigan has wonderful stones, smooth and flattened, but you might find the right stone, or even a pebble, anywhere.
The truth is, I am not as creative as I’d like to be, and I hunted down some really cool stone marker designs to get me started! Do you need help, too?
From fanciful pets, your whimsical family members, natural paper weights, to garden markers for your herbs, come get creative!…
