You’d hardly expect to find old St. Nicholas in a prison. But St. Nicholas is more than a children’s Christmas legend. Indeed, he was real flesh and blood, a persecuted prisoner for Christ, the bishop of the Mediterranean city of Myra….
Or so a pious tradition has it.
Have you recently thought much about who your neighbor is or the parable of the Good Samaritan?
Jim O’Connor did. But, no one would suspect; he has a reputation as a gruff algebra and calculus teacher.
At the age of twenty-two, Charles Spurgeon almost quit the ministry.
He and his wife, Susannah, had been married less than one year. Their twin sons, Charles and Thomas, were infants.
