“The night I was taken in to Children’s Hospital, in Dallas, and diagnosed with type 1 diabetes…..there were 5 or 6 other kids who were on iv’s that had been diagnosed THAT NIGHT.

I believe in healing. And I surrender my condition to God, often. And I keep up with hopeful cures that seem to come around every once in awhile. But even those seem to fade, or the scientists pursuing them “fade” and aren’t heard from after awhile.
So no, I do not trust the systems of man.
And no, I don’t blindly believe vaccines can be overtly damaging. I’ve lived it. They were, for me, and for those I knew.

It is so hard to read articles about type 1. My 11 year old son (now 34) became a type 1. Back then I trusted doctors waaaaay tooooo much. I grew up getting vaccinated so I thought it was ok. I don’t know if that is why my son has type 1 (and man is it a hard disease) but it is probably a good chance. I feel so responsible for his suffering. I fear his future, He isn’t married so I worry about him all the time. The depression of fighting blood sugars with over 50 different things that we know of that can affect them is so real. I keep praying Jesus will send him a friend that is a type 1 and good at working with it–to teach my son how to control it better. There are coaches but so far my son thinks it won’t help so he won’t work with one. I am praying that maybe Jesus will change his mind on that too or just send him an angel disguised as a friend to help my son. I still cry about it all after all this time. I wish I had not trusted doctors. He doesn’t even have an endo doctor that is any good. We have looked for another but my son is sort of feeling like it is what it is and somewhat not encouraged that it can be better.

Sheila, please don’t let guilt eat at you. We have been (and still are) all lied to and so I don’t judge you. We have all had to learn the hard way in different areas. Our oldest son reacted severely to his first (and only) vaccine (DtaP), and now I look at it as a blessing in disguise! I knew what caused that, so the rest of our children didn’t get any vs and are healthier for it!
