[Puberty-blocker Lupron was one of 3 drugs deemed necessary back when we sought help for infertility back in 1990. I gave my own daily subcutaneous injections besides getting Pergonal and Metrodin. My fertility doctor casually warned that I would experience “some nasty side effects” esp. with Lupron, but on the “bright side”, maybe we’d have a child. The chances of a live birth were at that time 36% for the GIFT surgery, and so we took that chance. Looking back, if I had known the devastating and irreversible effects of Lupron, I would have proceeded quite differently. My functional doctor lamented that my skeletal x-rays look like that of a 90-year old woman instead of a 72 year old – so bad that I won’t share them here. It has also apparently compromised the ability of my bone marrow to make enough red blood cells, so there is chronic anemia. One of the life-long effects is severe osteoporosis and osteopenia.]
Update: I have been persuaded to share my thoracic spinal 3/2024 x-ray so you can SEE for yourself WHY Lupron is so dangerous! A picture IS worth a thousand words.
Hundreds of other women have come forward publicly with their different kinds of suffering from taking this drug. Here are a few.
4 minutes.
In just the six years between 2013 and June 2019, the FDA recorded 41,213 adverse events, including 6,379 deaths and 25,645 serious adverse events in patients who took Lupron.

Women and parents —puberty blockers are a clear danger to health no matter how one uses them.
Shockingly, Lupron is still the main puberty blocker prescribed to children to treat early-onset puberty, to men with advanced prostate cancer, and to women with endometriosis.
Lupron was also used widely off-label as a “down-regulator” for women going through infertility treatment like in my experience.
Transgender activists promote puberty blockers as safe and reversible when stopped. This is not true.
In the transgender population, Lupron is rarely referred to as “Lupron”, but just as “the hormone-blocker”. No doubt this language shift is an attempt to prevent any association with ‘dreaded Lupron’. For years, it was only used as the “castration drug” used in sex-offender prisoner populations, essentially creating eunuchs, but the general public didn’t know.
NO research has been done to prove the safety of such use as a puberty blocker.
Virtually anyone who takes this drug will experience poor quality of life at some point or no life at all!
Your Child May Experience These Harsh Puberty Blocker Complications:
- cardiovascular events, such as heart attacks and blood clots
- suicidal behavior and other psychological disorders
- Lupron-induced osteoporsis (thinning bones leading to fractures), vertebral collapse, even paralysis)
- reproductive injury, including sterility (Lupron is a known “reproductive toxicant” and “developmental toxicant”)
Mayo Clinic lists COMMON side effects of Lupron are:
- Arm, back, or jaw pain
- bloody or cloudy urine
- blurred vision
- chest pain or discomfort
- difficult, burning/painful urination
- difficulty moving body parts, numbness
- dizziness and headache
- frequent urge to urinate day and night
- muscle pain or stiffness
- severe depression and suicidal ideation
So it was with joy that I just learned that the UK is stopping puberty blockers.
If you know someone who wants to use a puberty blocker, show them this sadly revealing video of medical child abuse exchanged for perks and huge kickbacks!
15 minutes.
Lawsuits Reveal Kickbacks and Suppressed Knowledge of Patient Harm:
Dr. Gueriguian, former FDA medical officer, testified that Abbvie, maker of Lupron, intentionally suppressed knowledge about the risks associated with Lupron, including bone density loss (permanent disability in some cases), generalized pain, headaches, weight gain, depression and immune and nervous system problems, including spinal fractures, convulsions and paralysis. (source)
The pharmaceutical company agreed to pay $875 million to settle claims that it paid kickbacks to doctors to promote Lupron. Prosecutors showed Lupron sales teams rewarded doctors prescribing the drug for prostate cancer with ski trips, golf outings and bribes. In one court testimony, one gynecologist said a salesperson told him he “could earn $100,000 annually” by treating the women in his practice with Lupron. (source)
Menopause & Lawsuits
Lupron causes the rapid onset of menopause, potentially with incapacitating and long-lasting effects. (source)
Again, this was one of my harsh side-effects. I went into full-on menopause at 44, wrecking my hormones.
Look at the large number of lawsuits (all the way back to 1989) underway here, here, here, and here.
Company Profit-Making is ‘Medical & Psychological Child Abuse’ at the Child’s Expense
California-based endocrinologist and specialist on childhood gender dysphoria Dr. Michael Laidlaw has noted the medical industry is looking at a “windfall” as a result of patients seeking out treatment for gender dysphoria.
“Big pharma, big hospital systems, surgical centers and doctors seek to gain huge profits,” Laidlaw said. “Lupron … monthly is $775 alone. Multiply this together with the huge rise in cases documented and a major windfall is to be had.”
Are Puberty Blocker Side-Effects Reversible?
No. In children, especially, the lost years of bone development cannot be regained.
Endocrinologist Dr. William Malone explains puberty suppression is “frequently called reversible, but it’s not”:
“Normal bone density development is interfered with, and probably brain development too. Almost all children placed on puberty blockers go on to cross-sex hormones—meaning puberty blockers solidify and sometimes intensify dysphoria.”
What This Means for Parents
When parents visit a gender specialist for a suffering child, they will always tell you and your child: “Puberty blockers like Lupron are to buy time to allow your child to explore his identity.”
WITHOUT a puberty blocker, it is estimated that only about 5-10 percent of effected children go on to pursue further sex-change interventions.
But WITH a puberty blocker, one Dutch study reported 100% (all 70 children studied) went on to further sex-change interventions.
But for most children—100% of them, according to the key study above—they are on a one-way ticket to transgenderism.
“God paid a great price for you. So use your body to honor God.” ~1 Corinthians 6:20

Thank you Jackie! I am so grateful for all of your posts. You are one of the only sources that we can trust on the web these days. I love that you unapologetically proclaim your Christian values and use scriptures. It is just so comforting to know that there are still good people in this world.
Jacqueline
Emily, thank you for your very kind words! I needed that encouragement tonight.
God bless you!

What to do? I was offered puberty blockers for early onset menstration for one of my children. Not sure I was ever told the name, I don’t clearly remember.
I remember being very upset about the early onset and that I, as the mother, could see and discern physical changes leading up to this event that were summarily dismissed. And when it became clear that it was indeed happening, I was upset! Almost mournful really, for the childhood cut short. (We don’t drink dairy which I thought was a potential cause of such a thing.) They spoke to me primarily of the potential affects in height of early puberty, which has happened. Is there anything at all to be done for such an issue?
P.S. We did not do any medication at all of any short.
Jacqueline
Amber, so did your child take the puberty blockers or not? I pray not.
For early puberty, here are some thoughts:
What Causes Precocious Puberty
Precocious puberty can be triggered by tumors in the pituitary gland, hypothalamus, ovaries, or testicles. However, these cases are rare. The following are more likely causes according to Dr. Fine:
1. Obesity
Rising obesity rates in the U.S. are likely linked to early puberty in girls. Fat cells create estrogen in the body, so the more fat there is, the more estrogen is produced. A systematic review published in 2017 discovered that obesity plays a part in early puberty in girls, but there is insufficient evidence to link obesity in boys to early puberty.
2. Endocrine Disruptors
Endocrine disruptors (EDs) in the environment have an effect on early puberty. These include chemicals in:
pesticides
fungicides
herbicides
cleaning substances
cosmetic products
dyes
plastic solvents
Endocrine disruptors can cause early puberty due to the way these chemicals interact with hormonal function in the body.
Two of the most concerning chemicals are BPA and phthalates. These are found almost everywhere from plastic toys to shower curtains.
While girls are experiencing precocious puberty, boys are experiencing feminization because of hormonal disruption and estrogen in the environment. A study from 2018 found that some endocrine disruptors can “cause an incomplete masculinization, suppressed libido… and subsequently totally inhibit the reproductive potential of humans and animals.”
Are There Natural Remedies for Early Puberty?
While there isn’t much in the way of natural remedies for precocious puberty, there are things we can do to reduce the likelihood of early puberty as well as support the body in functioning optimally even after puberty begins.
Our bodies are resilient and can process a lot of toxins, but today there are just too many coming at us every day. The ‘rain barrel theory’ is a great illustration of what’s going on.
Basically, toxins fill up the rain barrel (representing our bodies). Eventually, it will overflow (causing disease). Anything we can do to stop so much going into the rain barrel (meaning anything we can do to start removing some of those toxins) is going to help reduce the chances of that rain barrel overflowing.
I didn’t know anything about this until I was an adult with autoimmune disease. By then I had to work on undoing the damage. So, even if your kids are older just remember that there is always hope for better health!
Anything we can do (starting right where we are) to support optimal health can have a huge impact on our kids’ health, now and later.
Anything you can do to reduce the burden on the body is only going to help.
There are natural remedies that can help. Here are some possibilities:
Cilantro and chlorella
Bentonite clay
Activated charcoal
Coffee enemas
TRS (a nano-zeolite oral spray) is a simple way to lower toxic load. I write about it here: https://deeprootsathome.com/surprise-trs-giveaway-4-true-detox-stories-from-real-people/
And here: https://deeprootsathome.com/avalyns-story-how-trs-a-safe-heavy-metal-detox-can-help-you-and-your-child/
Many recommend removing toxins from the body at least a few times throughout your lifetime.
Environmental
As mentioned earlier, endocrine disruptors in the environment are a major concern. In fact, the Endocrine Society, which is the world’s largest professional association of medical and research endocrinologists, has stated that endocrine-disrupting chemical impacts is one of their highest public health goals. This group of doctors is composed of mainstream, conventional doctors, so their concern for this issue shows how important it is.
Avoid Phthalates and BPA
They are found in:
cleaning supplies
air fresheners
fragrances in general
thermal receipts
water bottles
kids’ toys
any plastic that is not BPA free
Phthalates are harmful to boys as well as girls. They reduce testosterone which is disruptive to normal male development, according to Dr. Fine. Learn more about avoiding phthalates here.
Avoid Fire Retardants and Pesticides
Fire retardants found in furniture and sleepwear and pesticides from food are also a big concern.
A 2017 study found that fire retardant chemicals delayed menstruation in girls (potentially making puberty longer) and brought on early puberty in boys.
According to a Berkley News article, pesticides are especially concerning for boys. One study found that they can castrate male frogs and even turn them into female frogs. While more research into the effects on humans is needed, there is enough evidence to support caution regarding these chemicals.
At the very least, avoid using pesticides in your own yard and consider taking the steps below as well.
Luckily there are some simple ways to reduce these chemicals in the home:
–Water filter – Adding a water filter to our house has been a game changer. It makes drinking and using cleaner water very easy. But if a whole house system isn’t in the budget, you can get a under counter water filter instead.
–Air filters – indoor air is more toxic than outdoor air (which is already filled with stuff we don’t want to breathe). Learn about my favorite air filters.
Dust more often and more thoroughly – phthalates, BPA, and fire retardants hang out in the dust in the home. By removing the dust more often (and more thoroughly) we can remove more of those toxins from the home.
–Avoid fragrances – don’t buy products that contain fragrances or perfumes. Their ingredients are not required to be disclosed (since fragrances are trade secrets) and many of them have toxic chemicals. I use essential oil when I want to improve the odor of a room or add scent to a product.
–Natural cleaners – natural cleaners should not have fragrances or other harmful chemicals. Here is what I use instead.
Buy organic furniture and clothing if possible.
–Avoid kid’s pajamas that they have fire retardants on them.
–Get rid of plastic – I’m always looking for non-plastic alternatives for kids’ items. Tempered glass and stainless steel are my favorites.
–Eat organic when possible.
–Vacuum with a good vacuum (must have a HEPA filter).
These small steps will add up to make a big difference in the home environment!
Healthy Diet
Eating healthy proteins, healthy fats, and lots of vegetables is important for supporting the body in all of its functions.
–Avoid plastics – whenever possible, avoid buying food packaged in plastic. Bring your own cloth bags to the grocery store and bag loose produce yourself. Also get meat from farmers or butchers who will wrap it in paper.
–Pick only the clean meat sources – animal products are highly contaminated with pesticides and other chemicals. Most communities who live in Blue Zones eat less meat and more vegetables (and are happier and healthier too!).
–Encourage lots of fresh produce (especially vegetables) – veggies have the nutrients that the body needs to naturally get rid of toxins. –
–Stay hydrated – stay aways from sweetened drinks (even fruit juice) and have your kids drink water most of the time. Water is important for enabling the body to rid itself of toxins.
Get (the Right Kind of) Light
Exposure to light has a huge impact on hormones in the body. Try to get kids outside for 30 minutes in the morning to help the body get the benefit of natural light for hormone regulation. Sunlight also helps the body produce vitamin D which is important for many functions in the body.
Specifically, vitamin D is a prehormone, meaning it’s needed to make hormones in the body. A 2011 study found that girls age 5-12 who were vitamin D deficient were twice as likely to experience precocious puberty.
Also, avoid artificial lights after dark. These lights can make it hard for kids to settle down and confuses the natural hormone response in the body.
During sleep, the body gets rid of toxins, so it’s important that kids get enough sleep.
Is Early Puberty Inevitable?
This is a tough question to answer, but even if you’re just learning about these healthier living tips now, you’re still “in time.” It’s never too late to make a change to support the body. Remember, the body is incredibly resilient, so it may not need much assistance at all in getting back into a place of health. Small changes can make a huge impact on your child’s life and health!
I hope this all helps you and your child!

Jeannette
Jacque,
Seeing your X-rays really touches me. I was an X-ray tech for many years, and I concur that those images indeed look like a person in their 90’s. I’m sorry that you have the pain and difficulties that come with the bone loss/degradation, as well as other health issues you have mentioned.
Yet you still persevere, and work (seemingly) tirelessly to inform and help others to live healthier lives. I’d say I don’t understand how you can keep working, but I do know: with God’s grace and help.
Thank you for all you do. You are a trusted source of information for me and, I’m sure, for many, many people.
God bless you!!
PS. Someday we’ll meet and I can’t wait to give you a big hug. 🙂
Jacqueline
Aw Jeannette, the Lord Jesus is indeed merciful! He has given me a high pain threshold and a will to get up and do what he puts on my mind and heart each day. He is very present as I seek Him. And faithful!
Thank you for this sweet confirmation this morning that I am doing the right thing! I love you though I’ve never meet you face to face.. one day in heaven we will indeed be together with the ‘great cloud of witnesses’!
Warm hugs,
Jacque
