When the Lord prompts me to write, I never know who it will be for. Today is the day to share about soursop, effective for multiple cancers as you will see in a moment.
Soursop (aka graviola or guanabana) is a tropical fruit grown in Mexico, the Caribbean, Central and South America, and also Florida. It is dense in nutrients and has excellent health benefits. We can sometimes find or order it at local international or Indian markets here in the Midwest.
Soursop (Annona muricata) has a long list of studies showing effectiveness to treat multiple cancers and especially block the spread of pancreatic cancers by decreasing their glucose uptake. (Source Dr. Axe)
Patients suffering with mid- and end-stage cancer have a “right to try” to fight their cancer naturally if their toxic chemical treatment has failed.
Here’s a start into the research —and this is not even half of the studies. I wonder why oncologists never mention this to patients?
The leaves seem to have the most cancer-fighting effectiveness.
Numerous Scientific Studies of Soursop (aka Graviola) for Cancer
Peer-reviewed PubMed study, Exploring the Leaves of Annona muricata as a Source of Potential Anticancer Agents is a meta-analysis of many studies.
Also, Benefits of A. muricata in Combating Cancer: A Review [PubMed] discusses breast, colon, lung, liver, pancreatic and prostate cancers.
In vitro (in humans) Anti-Cancer activity
Antiproliferative activity and induction of apoptosis by A. muricata extract on human cancer cells.
Anticancer potential of ethanolic and water leaf extracts of A. muricata (Graviola).
“The A. muricata leaf extracts were investigated for cytotoxicity against human bladder cancer cells, K562 as well as human leukemia cancer cells, ECV304, where the results manifested a remarkable cytotoxic effects.” (Oviedo et al., 2009)

Cytotoxic effect of A. muricata leaf extract on pancreatic cancer.
Anti-cancer effect of A. muricata leaf extract on breast cancer cell line.
Inhibition of human breast cancer cells by graviola fruit extract involving downregulation of EGFR expression. [PubMed study]
It was in this study that researchers found that graviola fruit extract (GFE) suppressed so-called oncogene (or cancer-causing gene) expression in the cell and animal models of breast cancer.
Graviola: inhibits tumorigenicity and metastasis of pancreatic cancer cells in vitro and in vivo through altering cell metabolism. [PubMed study]:
“The extract significantly decreased the size and weight of tumor, exhibited anti-metastatic properties, prompted apoptosis (death of cancer cells) in vitro and in vivo of the 4 T1 cells as well as suppressed… the tumor while at the same time stimulated the level of white blood cell, T-cell, and natural killer cell population.”
Cancer Testimonials Using Extract or Capsules or Leaves for Tea
It is amazing to read the reviews from people who are either “cancer-free” or “in remission” on these Soursop/Graviola products. I couldn’t stop reading. I share these so you can read about them first.
- Biotech Nutritions Graviola 100% Pure Graviola
- Best Products on Earth product with Graviola, Burdock, Chaparral, and Bloodroot
- Organic Graviola Liquid Soursop Extract
- Graviola Leaves for a caffeine-free tea here and here and here.
- Graviola tea bags
If the reviews are even half true, it warrants a deeper look into this plant medicine! I have always believed there are many natural remedies all around us, giving us hints of the Creator’s care and power. I immediately think of walnuts which look like little brains because they have folds and divided halves.
How much soursop (aka graviola) tea should I drink and how often?
I refer you to this post to answer this question. I personally would stick to 1 medium strength cup a day and no more for a long period to validate how your body does.
The possible risks of soursop
Like most things, soursop does have its risks when consumed in large doses. The seeds are thought to be toxic. Consumption of large amounts of seeds and/or tea may cause neurotoxicity and movement disorders similar to Parkinson’s disease. We have no studies on Soursop during pregnancy, so consider it not safe.
Penny’s Healing Protocol with Soursop /Graviola Tea
And lastly, read Penny Heals Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer Naturally over on Chris Beat Cancer:
“In 2011, Penny was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer progressing to stage 4 with metastasis in the liver which had multiple cysts ranging from 0.3 to 2.6 cm. Now there is no more metastasis. Her pancreatic cancer test (CA 19-9) is very normal like someone who never had cancer!”
She gives us her natural protocol including Soursop as her chemo:
“And my natural chemo is Soursop (aka Guyabano, Graviola, Chirmoya). I eat the fruit or sometimes have it juiced.
“Once in a while I boil 18 soursop leaves with 7 cups of water. You start timing the moment you turn the stove on medium heat for 15 minutes. Then turn it off. You can take it purely as tea or let it cool to room temp and take it as additional liquid intake. Consume the same day.”
Penny said, “The following helped me a lot: Gerson Therapy (lots of pure carrot juice and coffee enemas), eating and juicing Soursop (my natural chemo), a plant-based diet, a very happy and healthy attitude, and most of all, doing what I am supposed to do and letting God do the rest.”
“My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.” ~Psalm 121:2

Hi Jacque! Thanks for this. It reminded me about papaya leaf tea for malaria, lyme, and dengue. I know those aren’t cancer, but I bet papaya is good for more than what I’ve learned about it so far. I first read about it in Rachel Weaver’s book, Be Your Own Doctor.

Just wanted to let you know, one of the people you were writing for is me : ) My mom was diagnosed with cancer this year and while she is not very into natural remedies and is doing chemo, I want to find all that I can to help her.
I know this is a pretty in depth question but I’ve been combing through so many articles it’s hard to know where to begin, and from a practical and financial standpoint, you can’t try everything. If you or your loved one had cancer (multiple myeloma if that helps) what would be the top 3-5 things (supplements, therapies, etc.) you would consider trying? As I said, I’ve read about so many things that *might* help, it’s hard to know where to begin!
Many thanks for any light you might have to shed on this question.

Thanks for writing this! I shared it with my husband’s good friend who is my age, only 34, and has cancer in his lungs. I don’t know what his treatment looks like (he didn’t go into much detail with my husband) but I am praying for his recovery.
I love your posts! I have used your prepper list to make a box of items, and I am working on my natural medicine cabinet. I have started to see through your posts how wonderfully and perfectly God created our bodies, and the world for us and for our good! It is just sad that we have messed it up so bad and missed so much! I am looking forward to Jesus’s return, but until then I feel empowered and thankful to stand firm and help myself and those around me when I can!
Thanks, Jackie! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
