I needed some inspiration and have been looking for a few last-minute hostess gifts I can make on a shoestring budget.
Shoving a few bills in a card might seem like the best you can do when you’re short on time, but you can gift better than that! Here are some last-minute ideas that are perfect for the Secret Santa you forgot you signed up for or the hostess gift you really should’ve thought about a week ago.

I’m sure this fragrant Vanilla Brown Sugar Body Scrub would soothe anyone’s tired body!
The recipe only calls for white sugar, brown sugar, sunflower or safflower oil, and vanilla extract plus jar and ribbon!
Your house will smell amazing as these Sugared Pecans cook in the oven. Food gifts are perfect for that hard to please person who has everything.
There’s something about having a sweet treat made especially for you! A pretty little carry box, or a colorful bag and bow — and you’re ALL done!
Even dogs love gifts, and their owner will be charmed. If it tastes of bacon, dogs will eat pretty much anything! Make these Bacon-Flavoured Dog Treats for the Brutus or Winnie in your life.
These little Crunchy Granola Pretzel Sticks make a tasty, frugal gift for that sweet tooth friend in your life, and it’s a very easy hostess gift or stocking stuffer, too.
Homemade Herbal Bath Salt formulas are comprised of only a few basic ingredients that you may already have on hand.
This one is healthful, too, with Epsom salts (which is good for relaxation and detox), sea salt, and essential oils or herb(s) of your choice.
This Lemon Sugar Hand Scrub takes only minutes to mix up, and you most likely have all the necessary ingredients sitting right in your pantry.
And I added a #7.
‘Perpetual ‘ Vanilla Extract ~ A Gift That Will Last Forever This takes about 4 weeks to start looking like full-bodies vanilla extract, so start as soon as you can! It takes a little time to be ready.
Good cooks will understand that it is steeping and drawing out the luxurious goodness over time!
I hope this help stimulate some frugal and creative ideas!

I wish you and your family a beautiful, close-knit life and a very Merry Christmas!

I think each of these is sweetly thoughtful! Homemade gifts are usually my favorites…one of the most memorable was an apron my sister made which I still have. I also like simple cup gifts-finding a mug or tea cup that suits the receivers’ taste and little useful fillers like tea, cocoa, gloves, lotion, etc. Anytime you put time and thought into something will be meaningful. I love these ideas you posted!

These look great! And in my family, where people tend to buy what they need before I get a chance to gift it, homemade pampering gifts are such a good idea! Thanks Jacqueline.
Kathy
Hi. Love this idea of the white and brown sugar scrub! What kind of sunflower oil. Where do you buy? Grocery section?
Jacqueline
Kathy, the sunflower oil would probably be in the baking section as would the brown and white sugar!
Enjoy!
Blessings,
Jacqueline
