Easy DIY Quercetin/Quinine Water Recipe: A Cold & Flu Remedy

I’ve wanted to share how to make homemade quercetin (aka hydroxychloroquine) since Covid but never got a chance, so here we go.

A rapidly expanding body of scientific evidence links regular quercetin consumption to improved cardiovascular health, reduced cancer risk, much milder allergic responses, and improved resistance to infection.

You can achieve these broad health benefits (and more) in 2 ways: You can purchase quercetin capsules in a whole food blend or you can make it for yourself very easily, and it stores well in the fridge or freezer.

Quercetin is a natural form of hydroxychloroquine (HCQ). Something that anyone can make at home. It is made using only the peel and the white pith under the peel of organic grapefruits and lemons. It is good for colds, flu, and pneumonia.

A quick overview in under 2 minutes.

You can watch a 10 minute visual of making the homemade remedy here, if necessary. It stresses that when you simmer the peels, you need a tight fitting lid on the pot.

Some of Quercetin’s Health Benefits

Quercetin completely blocked the deadly “anaphylactic” response to peanuts in peanut-allergic rat studies. The animals had none of the airway tightening, blood pressure lowering, or blood vessel leakiness seen in controls exposed to peanuts. In life-threatening peanut allergy or food allergies, quercetin favorably modifies the allergic response in potentially life-saving ways.(source)

A large number of studies have demonstrated that quercetin protects kidneys by lessening renal toxicity, fibrosis and inflammation in a variety of kidney diseases.

Several basic quercetin mechanisms include lowering cholesterol, moderating blood pressure, and reducing dangerous accumulations of abdominal and liver fat. It improves the health of your endothelium, the lining layer of the arteries that controls blood flow and pressure.(source)

Quercetin is a powerhouse that can shut down cancer cells early in multiple cancers.(source)

Hydroxychloroquine is essentially nothing but quinine, something that anyone can make at home. It is tonic water. You may have seen Schweppes tonic water. Sadly, Schweppes tonic quinine water contains preservatives, saccharine, natural flavor and a bunch of other nasty additives.

Here’s the Easy Quercetin/HCQ/Quinine Water Recipe:

• Take the rind of 2-3 already washed organic grapefruits and 2-3 organic lemons. (Avoid the chemical sprays by using organic!)

• Put all pieces into a glass or metal pan and cover it with water about 3 inches above the peels – about 8 cups of filtered water.

• Bring to boil for just a minute, and than lower the heat so you don’t harm the enzymes. Put a lid on your pot. Barely simmer for about 2-3 hours. Do not take the lid off of the pot till it cools completely as this allow the quinine to escape in the steam.

• Strain it with a sieve using a large funnel into a glass quart jar with a tight fitting lid.

• Keep it in the fridge up to 14 days.

• It can then be frozen and thawed. As one woman wrote, “I poured mine into ice cube trays. It still cured me.” Another shared, “I freeze it in small jelly jars; they thaw out quickly and I dose for several days from the jar.”

Note: You can also make this in a crock-pot. There is a a good FaceBook group dedicated to this.

How to Dose:

For prevention take 1 tablespoon, 2 times a day.

I take it alone and chase with plain water, but you can also drink it as a tea, than sweeten it with honey since it will be bitter.

If you feel sick, take 1 tablespoon every couple of hours to bring up the phlegm from your lungs. Discontinue as soon as you get better.

If you take zinc with this recipe, the zinc propels the quinine into your cells for a much faster healing.

This should take away your fears about anything viral because you now have a defense.

And don’t forget about Nebulized Peroxide, the Single Most Effective Early Strategy – this technique has saved many thousands of lives during Covid, conservatively speaking.

“I love You, Lord
Oh, Your mercy never fails me
All my days, I’ve been held in Your hands
From the moment that I wake up
Until I lay my head
Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God.

And all my life You have been faithful
And all my life You have been so, so good
With every breath that I am able
Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God.”

Hi! I’m Jacqueline!

Thanks for being part of this journey with me.
Welcome to my own little place on the internet! Home is where I love to be. I feel there is no greater place to incubate souls. These days you’ll find me using my experiences here to write about herbal remedies and natural health research — a big passion of mine. But being a wife and mother is not easy. It is challenging and potentially lonely. I get that. I wanted to create a place to connect with and support other moms for creating a natural, healthy, and fulfilling home life.
