Social Isolation May Be the Ultimate Ill-Health Super Spreader

Social Isolation May Be the Ultimate Ill-Health Super Spreader. alone

Social Isolation may just be the ULTIMATE ill-health super spreader.

This kind of isolation reminds me of the rat isolation studies. Lock or isolate a rat in a cage with access to a bottle of water with heroin in it. They will become addicted and eventually die. He has nothing else to do. But if the rat has a rat society to live in and can do rat things, he learns to leave the heroin alone. (See Study)

“A wave of new research more than suggests social separation is bad for us. Individuals with less social connection have disrupted sleep patterns, altered immune systems, more inflammation and higher levels of stress hormones.

One recent study found that isolation INCREASES the risk of HEART DISEASE by 29 percent and STROKE by 32 percent.

Another analysis that pooled data from 70 studies and 3.4 million people found that socially isolated individuals had a 30 percent higher risk of dying in the next seven years, and that this effect was largest in middle age.

Loneliness can accelerate cognitive decline in older adults, and isolated individuals are TWICE AS LIKELY TO DIE prematurely as those with more robust social interactions.

Socially isolated CHILDREN have significantly poorer health 20 years later, even after controlling for other factors. All told, loneliness is as important a risk factor for early death as OBESITY and SMOKING.”

    ~New York Times, 2016

Isolation Weakens the Immune System & Increases the Risk of Cancer

Sara Jo Poff of Healthy Families for God, says it so well:

If CV and complications from it are very rare in children, and we are using harmful masks and quarantine to “protect” them from it, we are inadvertently harming their immune system and even increasing their risk of cancer! (Sources here and here)

Did you know that fevers reduce a child’s risk of cancer? This is a normal part of priming the immune system.

The “hygiene hypothesis” is the idea that autoimmune disorders and allergies are becoming more common in modern western societies because young children are no longer exposed to the pathogens required to build up their immune systems.

Professor Mel Greaves of the Institute of Cancer Research in London analyzed the hygiene hypothesis with leukemia patients and concluded:

“My advice to parents is not to be too fussy about trivial infections in infancy and to encourage social contacts with other young children.” ~Mel Greaves, Institute of Cancer Research, London

With extreme COVID isolation measures, we are likely to see the negative effects on children’s immune systems from the extreme measures now for years to come with increased autoimmune conditions, more childhood cancer, etc.

This is what happens whenever humans try to play god; it only makes things worse. Our job is not to play god and protect them from getting sick; it’s to support the way their body was made so that it handles things the way it’s meant to.

    Hi! I’m Jacqueline!

Thanks for being part of this journey with me.
Welcome to my own little place on the internet! Home is where I love to be. I feel there is no greater place to incubate souls. These days you’ll find me using my experiences here to write about herbal remedies and natural health research — a big passion of mine. But being a wife and mother is not easy. It is challenging and potentially lonely. I get that. I wanted to create a place to connect with and support other moms for creating a natural, healthy, and fulfilling home life.
