A while back, I wrote about Amy Moser’s 20 surgeries to repair multiple tendon and ligament ruptures, spinal degeneration, and widespread arthritis after using Cipro. These newest warnings were not in time to help Amy and untold others that have suffered.
They were “floxed”! ‘Floxed’ is a fairly new term to describe horrific damage from a commonly prescribed set of antibiotics – the fluoroquinolones: Brand names Cipro, Levaquin, Avelox, Baxdela (and any of the generic names with “floxacin” in it)! (source)
Despite antibiotics saving many lives, they can also have damaging effects on the body’s metabolism. Researchers found that ciprofloxacin stopped the normal functioning of mitochondrial DNA.
Evidence: Fluoroquinolones Damage Mitochondrial DNA, Causes Rapid Aging
This study “Ciprofloxacin impairs mitochondrial DNA replication through inhibition of Topoisomerase 2″ gives a great amount of insight into the damage that ciprofloxacin does.
Mitochondria are organelles in cells that produce most of the adenosine triphosphate (ATP) – the source of energy for the cell. The organelles possess their own small circular genome, and require the use of topoisomerase enzymes to maintain it.
The study’s authors found the severe adverse effects caused by the drugs include:
• tendon rupture
• central and peripheral neuropathies
• epilepsy
• psychiatric symptoms such as severe and persistent depression
Also ciprofloxacin has also been reported to interfere with significant cell differentiation processes, such as spermatogenesis (57), fetal brain development (41), bone mineralization (58), as well as to induce renal toxicity and heart arrhythmia (59). Mitochondrial DNA play a central role in all of these physiological processes, making mitochondrial impairment a likely culprit for the disturbed cellular physiology.” (source)
Now we know – fluoroquinolones during pregnancy damage fetal brain tissue!
All fluoroquinolones are topoisomerase interrupters, impairing DNA replication
All other topoisomerase-interrupting drugs ARE CHEMO DRUGS.
The same mode of DNA-replication damage/impairment seen in ciprofloxacin is found in these chemotherapy drugs: topotecan, amsacrine, etoposide, Doxorubicin, etc.
This is not just an American problem. This International esposé is excellent.
Fluoroquinolones should NEVER be given to athletes or anyone who values their heart beat or the ability to move.
The article, “Fluoroquinolone-induced serious, persistent, multisymptom adverse effects” published in the British Journal of Medicine, goes over four cases of people who were healthy, active and athletic prior to taking fluoroquinolone antibiotics who are now disabled because of their reactions. Please read through this prior to taking a fluoroquinolone antibiotic.
ALL Fluoroquinolones can Devastate DNA!
They also cause:
• detachment of the retina in the eyes (BMJ Open, 2015)
• bulges or tears in the aorta called aortic aneurysm (JAMA Internal Medicine, 2015)
• aortic dissection (JAMA Internal Medicine, 2015)
Healthcare professionals should be aware of the following (but are they?):
• They should NOT be prescribed for acute sinusitis, acute bacterial bronchitis, and uncomplicated urinary tract infections
• There is a risk of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) that may result in coma for elderly patients and those taking insulin
• Psychiatric adverse reactions may occur even after just ONE dose
Other life-altering problems with fluoroquinolones, but they continue to be prescribed:

I knew I had seen this article recently. I went to your website to search for it and typed in “worse antibiotics” in the search. However, nothing on antibiotics came up. Interesting. Thank you for this article. We certainly need to be aware of the horrific damage many pharmaceuticals cause.
