MRIs. Gadolinium. Here’s what you need to know to make an informed decision.

Radiologists and patients began to question the safety of gadolinium (a standard MRI contrast dye) a few years ago when a study came out in late 2014 showing the agent is deposited and retained in the brain. (source)

Gadolinium Banned In Europe

In July, 2017, the European Medicines Agency (the EU equivalent to our US FDA) gave recommendations to restrict/ban the use of gadolinium agents used in MRI scans. They found that “the benefit-risk balance of gadolinium agents are no longer favourable.” (source)

Meanwhile, the FDA stated, gadolinium can linger in the body “for months or years after receiving the drug.” (source)

So, if the EU is banning it, why are we still using it in the US? Doctors have used gadolinium-based agents for 30 years—totaling more than 300 million doses.  Are patients seeing a downturn in health following their MRIs? These are valid questions.

The Downsides

Gadolinium is a nanotized heavy metal mixed with a chemical. Gadolinium has acute side effects including death not to mention the inflammation caused in the brain (which you will not hear much about since the death is not often tied to the MRI contrast dye).

Emerging evidence has linked MRI signal changes in deep nuclei of the brain with repeated administration of gadolinium-based contrast agents. Gadolinium deposits have been confirmed in brain tissue, most notably in the dentate nuclei and globus pallidus.

Gadolinium MRI Dye: A Nano Heavy Metal That Insults Your Body, an MRI image
Gadolinium contrast agents (GBCAs) are partly retained in the brain, raising safety concerns, as seen in this MRI. (source)

Gadolinium retention occurs when the particles are not removed from the body via the kidneys and urination. Instead, the metal settles in the brain, bone and other tissues. Gadolinium contrast agents (GBCAs) have been shown to persist in bone tissue eight years after injection.

Those with MTHFR gene mutations need to be aware of the heightened repercussions this contrast has on their body due to the delayed metabolization of the cocktail.

On December 19, 2017, the FDA issued a public safety announcement, stating it is ‘requiring several actions to alert health care professionals and patients about the gadolinium retention.’

Actor Chuck Norris and hundreds more have filed lawsuits. Norris is seeking $10 million in damages against a contrast vendor and the contrast distributor for allegedly poisoning his wife Gena. She had several contrast MRI exams and alleges numerous adverse health effects began after these exams.

Gadolinium contrast can be fatal for some people or lead to severe disability. (source) Currently, there is no cure for renal failure, NSF/NFD, caused by gadolinium, according to the Mayo Clinic, and the treatments that are available, are not effective for everyone.

MRI is NOT recommended during pregnancy, either. Go directly to this page to watch IF the video is being blocked/censored here.

I recently heard ads on the radio for the $279. MRI, so are people without this knowledge getting toxic MRIs more frequently because of lower cost?

There are cases where an MRI CAN be done without a contrast agent, “It’s reasonable for patients to ask their doctor whether it’s needed or not.” (source)

Can You Say NO to the Gadolinium Contrast Dye?

One friend’s husband has avoided this toxic cocktail 3 times during the treatment of a hip injury, by outright refusing the contrast without the doctor signing a document to be liable if any medical issue did occur. Obviously, they wouldn’t sign it.

Patients harmed say they have gotten no informed consent on gadolinium’s potential hazards, while the practices looking into written informed consent fear it may open the door to litigation. (source)

Science says when Zeolite is used with Gadolinium in contrast, it renders it harmless!

You Can Detox Contrast Dye with Advanced TRS, a Nano-zeolite:

There are many partially successful detox methods. But there is only one detox method that fully binds ~80,000 known environmental metals and toxins (and does not release them back to the body)— and that is TRS. Most people don’t understand that lead, mercury, aluminum and other heavy metal removal can be safely done at home, without redistribution of metals —and without the expensive IV chelation done in in a clinic or doctor’s office.

Advanced TRS* contains lab-grown clinoptilolite zeolites. This allows for absolute control of the purity, size, and structure of the molecule. Earth-mined zeolites must undergo a separate chemical or mechanical cleansing process which is imperfect and cannot achieve the unsurpassed purity and effectiveness of Advanced TRS.

I prefer it to harsh EDTA, particularly due to its safety and it does not redistribute toxins or steal minerals/electrolytes like EDTA can.

It is now understood that purifying clinoptilolite zeolite is an essential manufacturing step for products with intended use in human consumption, as it increases not only the adsorption capacity but also the adsorption strength. (Very important!)

Read: PBX vs. TRS: Which Zeolite Product Is Safer & More Effective?

TRS is so safe to use that we can use it in pregnancy and while breastfeeding. All but 1 of our daughters have TRS babies. It is neuroprotective to the developing baby. (See this definitive PubMed study stating safety in humans, animals, and their developing offspring).

The zeolite in TRS is literally quite amazing.

Here is my personal link to order TRS.

When the doctor was scheduling an MRI, he had me go by a lab first to get a BUN level, which I admit I do not really know what that is, to determine if they should use the dye. I was told the level was too high, and the test would be done without the dye. I ended up not getting the MRI or returning to that doctor, more because I didn’t like his attitude or the disrespect he showed me than anything else.

Gena, that is so interesting! The BUN is blood urea nitrogen, and indication or poor kidney function, and he was actually protecting you. If your kidneys were not filtering properly, the contrast dye could have caused you to need dialysis or potentially death. When BUN is elevated we see confusion in patients, so I am glad he was cautious…even better, you did not have the MRI!! Blessings, friend!

TeriLynn, I don’t know how to counsel you bc I don’t know why they want to do the MRI.
      1. If it were me, I would definitely request a dye-free MRI, but make sure that you ask for verification (like see the label on the IV) or have an advocate do it for you (ask for proof). I have lost trust in the behind the scene details.
      2. If it were me, I would detox for 6-8 months with TRS for all the other things in your body. There is a root cause for the things going wrong in our bodies, and why not remove them and start an anti-aging process. I have never found anything like it. Nano-z crosses the blood brain barrier and gets metals in the brain, where it really matters, 100% removal of metals and toxins (without stirring them up and redistribution). Now, my husband and I wouldn’t be without it – we are using it to remove prions that the traditional medical industry says are incurable (but they are not!).
I am being bolder these days, but I am so tired of seeing so many really unwell people.
      Blessings, J

      Hi, Anna!
      I will email you now.
TRS only pulls + charged ions and leave what the body has taken up as a mineral salt which is not removed. I will send you how that works and more to give insight. It is used even by cancer and dialysis patients with no problems when following a specific protocol.

For Rhonda and others reading here, if you are concerned with toxins like gadolinium, there is a cost-effective, brilliant, and simple way to bind them and remove them deeply (cellularly as well as in the gut and blood). Or, if you just want to strengthen your immune system, read on!

Here is some basic information to read:

      FAQ on my website: https://inspiredhealthtrs.cosevatrs.com/faq/
reads: AdvancedTRS contains nano-clinoptilolite and water (Just 2 ingredients) and Clinoptilolite itself has been shown to:

—Bind heavy metals and over 80,000 toxins
—Adjust the balance of vital nutrients like iron & calcium
      —Support intestinal microflora and pH
      —Promote healthy immune function

Our second son had strong reactions to his 6 mos vaccinations (then we stopped vaccinating), I’ve had an MRI in the past, my 5th child was born with a fluid pocket in his spinal chord and had yearly MRIs, and it seems like there’s so much more! I’d really like more info on TRS and this detox.

My 10 year old recently had to undergo two MRI/MRA’s in two months for chronic GI bleeds. Immediately afterward in recovery she was screaming in pain saying her back hurt and then her legs. They had to give fentanyl and precedex to calm her. After recovery she’s been still complaining of pain in her chest briefly, and more persistently in her leg hip joint which is radiating into her ab muscles making her feel like she cannot sit up. Her urine also turned darker the next day. I think she has gadolinium toxicity 😓 I bought three bottles of TRS and need some direction on how to best use it to help her.

    Hello,
I am writing to you about gadolinium in MRI imaging. My husband was diagnosed about a year ago with stage 3 colorectal cancer. After chemo and many nutritional and herbal therapies, in July it was found that the tumor was gone; we were told that the cancer is not.
He decided to jump of the “standard of care”bandwagon which included oral chemo, radiation and surgery. He decided to continue with alternative therapies on his own. He is feeling good but figures it’s time for another assessment.
    Enter MRI
We have one scheduled in a few days, and we are just now learning about the dangers of gadolinium.
He is already taking TRS to deal with neuropathy from chemo. Help me understand this: Will taking TRS really protect him from gadolinium poisoning? How does he take it? timing? dose?
I am late getting this question out to you.I am hoping you have a few minutes to reply.
We really appreciate your presence here.

Heather, it is known that when zeolite is added to the gadolinium contrast there is high ability to capture the heavy metals. In other words, “When Zeolite is used with Gadolinium in contrast, it renders it harmless!” https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/8574032/
I would definitely use 10-15 sprays right before the MRI, then again right after, and again that evening before bed.. and taper off down to 5 or so sprays/day as a maintenance. Since you are fighting a cancer, consider muscle testing (I just ask the Lord how many) to know how many a day. Detox is so helpful for the immune system to allow it to stand up and fight invaders.
I am praying for your husband (and you) and hope this info helps,
      Jacque

Debbie, do you have any known allergy to iodine? While iodine contrast agents are generally safe, some potential side effects include:

      Allergic reactions (e.g., urticaria, angioedema)
      Nausea and vomiting
Kidney issues, particularly in patients with pre-existing kidney conditions

Common side effects of iodine contrast agents used in CT scans include warmth or flushing, nausea, and a metallic taste in the mouth. Most side effects are mild and temporary, typically resolving within 24 to 48 hours after the procedure.

I am praying for you, for sure, but try not to worry and trust the Lord will get you through with no issues. The TRS you are taking will help remove some of the downstream toxins and keep your system cleaner so your immune system can fight back.

      Sending peace,
      Jacqueline
