Gliomas are a rare, but deadly, type of brain tumor. Making up around 80% of all adult malignant brain cancers, their high mortality rate makes them a major health concern. Gliomas develop from glial cells, which support nerve cells. Although gliomas can vary in severity, some types, such as glioblastomas, are especially aggressive and difficult to treat, so researchers have searching to see whether lifestyle factors, such as diet, can lower the risk of developing them.
[We just lost a strong, otherwise healthy, dear friend, age 44, from brain cancer 4 days ago. Therefore, I share this insightful and important information by Dr. Matthias Rath since we are seeing so many brain tumors, and other turbo cancers, since 2021. I think it will be useful for many.]
Antioxidants help protect the body from damage caused by harmful molecules known as free radicals. Over time, free radical damage can lead to a number of diseases, including cancer. Vitamins A, C, and E are known for their antioxidant properties, so it makes sense that scientists are investigating whether they can help prevent gliomas.
To address this question, a large team of researchers analyzed 15 studies on the intake of vitamins A, C, and E and their potential relationship with glioma risk. The studies involved a total of 3,608 glioma cases and 771,930 participants.
The 2024 study confirmed:
Of the three vitamins examined, Vitamin C stood out as having a strong protective effect against gliomas.
Results: “The pooled analyses revealed that the highest intake of Vitamin C significantly reduced the risk of glioma, compared to the lowest intake. No significant associations were observed between vitamin A and vitamin E intake and the risk of glioma.”
According to the researchers, the brain, in particular, is vulnerable to oxidative stress, which may contribute to tumor development. Vitamin C is protective due to its ability to neutralize free radicals, scavenger for harmful molecules, and reduce oxidative damage in the body.
Beyond its antioxidant role, Vitamin C might also help prevent the formation of harmful compounds in the body, such as N-nitroso compounds (NOCs). (These compounds have been found in brain tissue and are thought to play a role in the development of brain tumors.) Additionally, research suggests that vitamin C could interfere with certain cellular pathways that contribute to the growth of gliomas, making it an even more valuable nutrient for brain health.
Dr. Rath’s Cellular Medicine Approach to Brain Tumors
Similar to most other tumors, brain tumors spread by destroying/dissolving the connective tissue that surrounds them. They primarily do this by releasing what are known as matrix metalloproteinase enzymes (MMPs). Increased levels of these enzymes are associated with the most aggressive tumors.
Key: Based on this scientific understanding, scientists at the Rath Research Institute studied the effects of a nutrient combination containing Vitamin C, the amino acids lysine and proline, green tea extract, and other nutrients on the activity of MMPs using three different types of human glioblastoma cell lines. The results showed that, at higher doses, for all three cell lines, the nutrient combination was able to completely block MMP activity.
Their findings were published in the International Journal of Oncology.
This is the patented product containing all these nutrients they recommend: Healthy Cell Growth Synergy Formula
Even if one does not use the above studied supplement, adding just 1,000 – 2,000 mg. of Vitamin C supplementation by itself per day is a good health strategy. (source) This is the product we’ve taken for years.
The fact that natural approaches are now understood to help prevent and potentially eradicate brain tumors should give hope to many patients worldwide.
Can Electromagnetic Field Radiations from Mobile Phones Cause Cancers?
Note: A few studies indicated that electromagnetic field radiation does not cause harmful effects. A greater number of studies show that mobile phone use causes genotoxic effects. Electromagnetic field radiations induce reactive oxygen species (ROS) causing mutagenesis genotoxicity leading to cancer. Dr. Mathias Rath has been attacked for more than a decade by the stakeholders of pharmaceutical medicine, media and politics. His achievements are now being internationally recognized. After publication of his research findings in the American Heart Association journal “Arteriosclerosis,” Dr. Rath accepted an invitation to join two-time Nobel Laureate Linus Pauling. Dr. Rath is a member of the New York Academy of Sciences, the American Heart Association and numerous other professional scientific organizations, and he serves as reviewer for several international scientific journals.

Michele
Hello again, it would be helpful to know what the necessary daily dose of Vit C would be.
Thank you for your great emails.
Cheers,
Michele

Hi, Michele,
In the studies for brain cancers, they didn’t say the dosages.
But I have 2 posts that go into the nuance of that. It depends on what you are wanting to accomplish:
https://deeprootsathome.com/vitamin-c-for-whooping-cough-by-suzanne-humphries-md/ There is no toxicity to Vit C. You body will tell you when you are at tolerance with a rumbly bowel.
And this post is so insightful, too: https://deeprootsathome.com/can-high-dose-vitamin-c-shorten-labor-lessen-pain-stretch-marks/
But start with this post for general info: https://deeprootsathome.com/protect-babies-children-from-dioxin-toxicity-with-vit-c/
Even adding just 1,000 – 2,000 mg. of Vitamin C supplementation by itself per day is a good health strategy. (source) This is the product we’ve taken for years. We take anywhere between 3,ooo mg/d normally, all the way up to 8,000 -10,000 mg /d day (divided doses every hour) if we are getting sick.
Eating sugar quickly drops your vit C levels, so you can account for that, too.
I hope this helps,
Jacque
