[The whole thing about increasingly early puberty in our girls is very challenging. But now studies show that the causative toxins known as “forever chemicals” CAN BE cleansed from the body as a preventative step to help slow puberty in our girls (see how near the end of the post). And there are quite a few other practical action steps listed below, as well.]
The Creator designed women with specific milestones of reproduction. This means that for thousands of years the entire human race has had very specific years when women can start making babies and then stop making babies. In his wisdom, he designed it so brain development would match physical development.
Reproductive milestones have far reaching effects on entire life spans, yet the timing of these milestones is under attack by our dirty planet and food.
Let’s get the timing terms straight
Menarche marks the onset of fertility, occurring the first time a girl gets her period.
Puberty is the age at which a girl is first capable of having a baby. Puberty has classically been regarded by culture as a time of raging hormones and sexual maturation. But puberty’s “timing” and “quality” affect a woman’s health and well-being across her entire female adult lifespan.
In this season, a cascade of hormones nudge brain development, and they in turn, drive her life-long sociological and psychological behavior, either to her advantage or disadvantage.
Menarche had historically occurred in U.S. girls between 16 – 17 years before the turn of the century. In 1907, Leo Baekeland invented Bakelite, the first fully synthetic plastic, meaning it contained no molecules found in nature.

World War II necessitated a great expansion of the plastics industry in the United States and proved important to military victory. The need to preserve scarce natural resources made the production of synthetic alternatives a priority. Plastics provided those substitutes. Nylon, invented by Wallace Carothers in 1935 as a synthetic silk, was used during the war for parachutes, ropes, body armor, helmet liners, and more. Around 80,000 new synthetic chemicals began to be dumped into earth’s environment. Especially over the last 50 years, plastics have saturated our world and changed the way that we live. (source)
By the 1950s, menarche and puberty were an average age of 12 – 13 years and remained stable… for a while. But in the last 2 decades, we’ve seen it drop to 9 -11 years of age. But presently, we’re seeing many cases of “precocious puberty” in girls aged 7-9 years increasing all over the world. (PubMed source)
The goal, then, is to try to help hold puberty off a bit longer to give our girls an advantage in becoming more emotionally mature before hit by all the hormones and body changes.
What Causes All This?
A new study suggests early puberty has been associated with endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs). They are called that because they alter our hormones.
Endocrine disrupting chemicals include:
• Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), are also known as “forever chemicals”. They include triclosan, phthalates, phenols, and Bisphenol A (BPA), a compound largely used worldwide as a precursor of many household and kitchen plastics. (source) There are too many to list and they are well-known for their molecular estrogen-like properties and have also been linked to making fat cells almost impossible to shed, thus many of these chemicals have been dubbed by Dr. Bruce Blumberg as “obesogens” (make us obese).
• These are found in processed food, fast-food packaging, in shrink-wrapped plastic or in cans lined with plastic. They’re in fumes on the roads we drive, and in office and school buildings where your kids sit all day long, and on ink-printed cash register receipts. They are out-gassing from modern building materials in walls, paints, stain-resistant sprays for carpets and furniture. In the bathroom, from a broad range of personal care products, such as cosmetics, toothpaste, soaps, tampons and sanitary pads, shampoos, and hair dyes to the kitchen in non-stick cookware and plastic sippy cups and cooking utensils. Not to mention flame retardants on infant clothing and foam in mattresses, and also in the fish that get exposed to these chemicals in ocean waters.
• Medications that contain endocrine disruptors include corticosteroids, certain psychiatric disorder meds, birth control pills, and some OTC drugs. Like birth control pills, many of these drugs intentionally mimic or interfere with hormones in the body. (source)
• Counterfeit perfumes, air fresheners and personal care products. It’s banned in the European Union and in Canada. It is found hidden under the word “fragrance” on the ingredient label, as well as imported products or cheap China products sold in Dollar Stores.
Today’s chemical soup—that mixture of household product chemicals, pesticides, herbicides like glyphosate, heavy metals, and many more—mimic, amplify, block, and alter our own natural God-given hormones.
Note: studies show there is a way to LOWER/REMOVE these per- and poly-fluorocarbons (PFCs and PFAS) a.k.a “Forever Chemicals” from our systems – which I will share at the end.
Long-term Downsides of Early Puberty
Girls who menstruate early and develop sexual characteristics early (like breasts buds or pubic hair) are more at risk as they age, for obesity, heart disease, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), and even breast cancer. They are also at risk of mood disorders and body image issues leading to anxiety and depression. (source)
Dr. A. Pinar Cemeroglu, a pediatric endocrinologist at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan, says that these precocious puberty children are typically taller than their peers, but ultimately when they grow up, they end up shorter than their peers because of their early growth spurt. As adults, they have an increased risk of Type II diabetes and breast cancer. (source)

Perimenopause and Menopause Follow Suit
Gynecologists are also reporting that more women are going into peri-menopause younger, even in their mid- to late-20’s, decades earlier than females have historically done. This increases a woman’s risk of anxiety, depression, fatigue and brain fog, as well as increasing vulnerability to diseases such as heart disease, obesity, and type 2 diabetes.
More than half of women ages 30 to 35 are already suffering moderate to severe symptoms associated with menopause. (source) In the U.S. the age has historically been 51 years old.
Menopause is partly hard-wired to occur when the number of eggs in the ovaries goes below a certain threshold. Endocrine-disrupting chemicals (whether from exposures while in the womb or as an adult) wind up affecting hormones in the reproductive system and set up genes to prompt the number of eggs to diminish prematurely. In this way, some women go into menopause earlier.
Note: studies show there is a way to LOWER/REMOVE these per- and poly-fluorocarbons (PFCs and PFAS) a.k.a “Forever Chemicals” from our systems – which I will share at the end.
Our sons are not immune to hormonal change. Young men are supposed to be flush with testosterone (T). But replicated reports are demonstrating a disturbing trend of lowered T levels in younger males, similar to what used to occur mostly in the aging male. The actions steps below will apply to them also.
What’s going on with early puberty?
Wealthy countries are in the middle of a childhood obesity epidemic. Fat cells manufacture estrogen. More estrogen means more hormonal changes. So that’s part of it. Overweight girls are at risk of entering puberty at earlier ages.
(Note: it is very important to have healthy fats in your diet like walnuts, avocados, flaxseed, nut and seed butters, olives, and black seed oil (Nigella sativa). These healthy fats will not increase your estrogen and, in fact, are extremely beneficial.) (source)
Research suggests high levels of psycho-social stress, including pressures from social media, likely influence the onset of puberty.
But the biggest finger is pointing at our “dirty” planet and food.
And it gets a huge start right inside the mother and what is passed on to the unborn child in her womb. (source)
Research demonstrated that mothers with high levels of chemicals in their bodies during pregnancy had daughters who began puberty earlier.
The high levels of chemicals found in women and children are typical of most U.S. citizens. In the United States, well over 90% of women have been shown to have detectable concentrations of phthalates, phenols, and paraben metabolites in their urine.
So… how to reduce our risk and try to get this stuff out of us?
Detox has to move mainstream and help get this stuff out of our children and out of us, but never forget, good nutrient dense whole foods can do a lot to mitigate early puberty.
Studies Now Prove Clinoptilolite Zeolites Can Safely Remove PFAS “Forever Chemicals” and toxic aspects of pharmaceuticals:
“The efficacy of zeolite-based materials for PFAS removal has been proved.” Licato et al. [77] demonstrated a 72% average mass reduction of PFAS using zeolite‑sodium silicate composites under controlled and real-world conditions. Fuentes et al. [78] achieved 96–98% removal of PFOS at low concentrations using modified natural clinoptilolite-type zeolite.” (ScienceDirect Study: See 4.1.3 Zeolites)
This study demonstrated “simultaneous pharmaceutical and personal care products and perfluorinated alkyl substance (PFAS) removal utilizing zeolite material.” “Human health risks associated with PFAS exposure include immune and thyroid disruptions, cancer, kidney, and liver diseases, hormonal dysfunction, hypertension, high cholesterol, reproductive issues, diseases like ulcerative colitis and even depression in adults.” (Science Direct source)
“Because of their high chemical and thermal stability, tunable pore structure, and regenerability, zeolites are being extensively studied as PFAS adsorbents.” (ScienceDirect Study: See section 4.1.3 Zeolites)
Advanced TRS is comprised of zeolite clinoptilolite and purified water, so all research papers are of interest.
On its own, your body has to go to a lot of work to neutralize and remove toxins, if it is able to remove them at all. For example, lead and mercury are notoriously difficult to remove. As a person’s body becomes more toxic with heavy metals, it becomes less able to remove them.
Zeolites are nature’s own toxin removal system. In nature, zeolites are an important part of the water cycle, helping to ensure plentiful, fresh, pure groundwater for our life on the planet.
Advanced TRS has an average zeolite pore size of 0.7 – 0.9 nanometers as verified by ultra-high resolution microscopy, and there is an estimated surface area of 4.8 million sq ft per bottle that is capable of removing toxins. Because the molecule is encased in a water cluster, it can travel everywhere in the body wherever water goes.
It has the ability to bind and remove the ~80,000 known environmental (all positively-charged) toxins. TRS is one of the primary tools I use as a nurse consultant and especially with my vaccine-injured clients.
Dr. Jana Grimm, whose practice I’ve recommended here on DRAH, and who uses TRS in her practice as well, has several hundred anecdotal TRS testimonials for more insight on her website.

Other Effective Steps to Slow or Prevent Early Puberty:
It’s impossible to avoid exposure to harmful chemicals in daily life completely, but there are steps that can help:
1. Eat plenty of organic vegetables, fruits, and “clean” meats, Icelandic cod, cold water caught salmon, dairy, certified virgin olive oil, virgin coconut oil, and raw nuts minus the seed oils).
2. Don’t store foods in plastic. Don’t wash plastic in the dishwasher and then reuse to hold food or beverages, even water.
3. Do not microwave food or beverages in plastic. Preferably, don’t use the microwave at all.
4. Avoid the “dirty dozen” foods identified by the Environmental Working Group (EWG) unless organically grown.
5. Use EWG’s Healthy Living app, Skin Deep database, and Guide to Healthy Cleaning to identify products that score well.
6. Avoid any product with the word “fragrance” on ingredient lists.
7. Use a water filter for your shower. We use AquaBliss.
8. Take shoes off at the front door. Wipe pet paws, too.
9. Strictly limit exposures during pregnancy: 7 Nasty Ingredients I Avoided During My First Pregnancy
10. Use phthalate-free or paraben-free personal care products. (Here is a good list to start, but check ingredients currently a they can change). Most perfumes contain phthalates, so try various essential oils, such as vanilla or sandalwood.
11. Detox with AdvancedTRS on a regular basis. You want to keep cellular house-cleaning going since we keep getting re-exposed.
